Lyceum Youth Orchestras at American Heritage School is one of the most comprehensive and highly awarded youth music programs in the nation. With a focus on faith, patriotism, and excellence, our students learn to LOVE music MORE through musical service, meaningful media, and inspiring events.
We serve more than 500 students, ages 6–18, across 10 ensembles on two campuses. From basic music readers to high school virtuosos, all are welcome to apply.

Auditions are accepted mid-season where space is available at both our Salt Lake City and Utah County campuses. Our application process is quick and completely online. You probably have everything you need already on your phone to audition today!

The Lyceum Orchestras Program is an incomparable combination of everything that music is meant to be — joy, refinement, belonging, and fun. It offers kids the kind of opportunities that make music exciting and cool. It provides an environment that isn’t blindly affixed upon purposeless perfection, but rather a more selfless pursuit of excellence. My favorite part of Lyceum is its inherent spirituality. There is a special feeling suggesting a profound development not only of the body and mind, but of the soul.
Growing up I have been in countless performing groups and orchestras, but I have never loved one the way I love Lyceum…This orchestra has brought meaning and love of music back into my life.
The Lyceum music program has been invaluable to my kids during their school years. Their greatest experiences and friends have come from being in this program. As a parent, I will always be grateful for the skills, experiences, confidence, and life lessons they have gained by being a part of the Lyceum orchestras!
My daughters love Lyceum! Orchestra rehearsal is a highlight of their week! Beautiful music, fun friends, and an inspiring conductor make for a terrific experience!

American Heritage School
American Heritage School is a faith-based private school with a focus on character education. It has recently opened a downtown Salt Lake campus and has developed comprehensive homeschool curriculums and accredited online study options. AHS is the largest private school in Utah with over 1100 students K-12 on its 40-acre American Fork campus in addition to over 100 students at its new Salt Lake City campus and thousands participating online. Since 2008, American Heritage School has sponsored the Lyceum Youth Orchestras to provide world-class music instruction to its students and as a community outreach.
